Now that the French Immersion Program is in full swing, our current efforts are focused on supporting the program as it grows.
Although there are no additional staffing costs for an immersion program (i.e., classrooms are staffed based on student numbers with a teacher whether instruction is in English or another language), there are added funding needs associated with the purchase of curriculum and library books in French as well as specific immersion teacher training each year as the program expands. In the first year, the kindergarten program was be implemented and each subsequent academic year for twelve years, we will add an additional grade.
French Language Advocates Anchorage is committed to grant writing and fundraising to cover the curricular and professional development costs. Your tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will assist with these additional costs. How do I find out if my company has a matching gift program?

Duke Energy Foundation
To encourage and support the generosity and community involvement of employees and retirees, Duke Energy offers The Duke Energy Foundation Matching Gifts Program, which provides matching funds to charitable organizations employees and retirees personally support. To maximize the impact of their efforts, Duke Energy provides matching funds for donations made by eligible participants up to $5,000. The company matches dollar for dollar contributions to educational institutions and 50 cents to the dollar for contributions made to all other eligible non-profit organizations.
Home Depot
The Home Depot Foundation is pleased to offer an improved Matching Gift Program for Home Depot associates. This program allows associates to tap into Foundation resources in order to match their individual gifts to the charities that reflect their personal interests.
The Foundation will match eligible individual associate gifts ranging from $25 to $3,000 per charity, per calendar year on dollar-for-dollar basis for part-time and full-time associates. There is a $3,000 cap per associate each calendar year. The organization to which the gift is being made must be a U.S. 501(c)(3) or Revenue Canada designated charity.
Gifts may be registered for a match using either of the following methods:

Register the gift by phone at 1-888-628-2442 (U.S. associates only)
Associates can also track the status of their donations using either of the methods listed above.
All gifts will be confirmed prior to matching. Matching gift checks will be distributed to eligible organizations on a quarterly basis (February, May, August, November). We are unable to make exceptions to this check disbursement schedule.
Gifts must be registered for a match by January 31 of the year following the year in which the gift was made. For example, gifts made in April and December of 2015 must be registered by January 31, 2016 in order to be eligible for a match.
