Now the the first year of the French Immersion Program is in full swing our current efforts are focused on supporting the program as it grows. Although there are no additional staffing costs for an immersion program (i.e., classrooms are staffed based on student numbers with a teacher whether instruction is in English or another language), there are added funding needs associated with the purchase of curriculum and library books in French as well as specific immersion teacher training each year as the program expands. (In the first year, the kindergarten program would be implemented and each subsequent academic year for twelve years, a new grade is added.) French Language Advocates Anchorage is committed to grant writing and fundraising to cover the curricular and professional development costs. Your tax-deductible donation to our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will assist with these additional costs. Additionally, many local employers match your gift, find out more about matching donations here.
